ABSTRACT = {A new species, <i>Zygophyllum multifoliolatum</i> Z.F.Bai & Xue L.Chen (Zygophyllaceae), from Gansu Province, China, is described based on its morphological characteristics. This species is similar to <i>Z. mucronatum</i>, <i>Z. loczyi</i> and <i>Z. jaxarticum</i>, however, it can be reliably distinguished by the following diagnostic characters: life form, number of leaflets, flower coloration, as well as capsule morphology including shape and length. A detailed taxonomic description, diagnostic characters against closely related species, colour photoplate, and distribution map are provided. Morphological evidence indicates that <i>Z. multifoliolatum</i> is an independent species.},
