Piquetia (Theaceae) from central Vietnam is described and illustrated. It is most similar to Camellia longii, but differs by its mature leaves sparsely appressed puberulous abaxially and leaf margins shallowly and widely denticulate, lateral veins 10‒13 pairs, sparsely appressed puberulous petioles, sepals 5, petals 20‒22, flattened-globose ovary and styles tomentose and free to base. Information on distribution, ecology, phenology, vernacular name, uses and conservation assessment of this new taxon, along with a key to distinguish the species of Camellia sect.
