This species shares morphological similarities with I. inconspicua Benth. ex Wight & Arn., and I. madapurae Bhaskar & Sringesw., but differs in the leaf character, number of flowers, length and pubescent nature of pedicels, standard petal, lateral sepals, wing petals, dorsal auricle, lip and spur.
