AB -Histological differentiation and the structure of protein bodies in the megagametophyte of Isoetes taiwanensis were examined by bothy light microscopy and electron microscopy. Various patterns of protein bodies coexist in the megagametophyte and structural changes of protein bodies are distinct during the embryogenesis. The structural modification of protein body is caused by degradation that initiates either within the center of protein body or along its periphery.
