Abstract

The purpose of this study attempts to investigate the plasmodial behavior which may lead to a better understanding of the role and activities of the protoplasm of living organisms. The observations made from this study are three folds: (1) the germination of spores (2) the formation of plasmodium and (3) the developing of fruiting bodies. Consequently, the spore to spore life cycle of Stemonitis splenodens Rostof. and S. flavogenita Jahn have been successfully completed in culture. The time required for completing such a cycle is about two or three weeks. The details of the events which took place during the course of their growth and devolopment are summarized in Table I.
