Abstract

The genus Isotrema (Aristolochiaceae) in East Asia had been intensely revised in the recent decade. However, the classification of Taiwanese Isotrema has not been reviewed since 1996. In current study, we examine the habit, leaf shape, and flower morphology and conducted morphometrical analyses in order to revise the classification of Taiwanese Isotrema. As a result, we recognized five species in Taiwan, including one new species, I. pahsienshanianum. Additionally, I. hohuanense, an overlooked species, which was omitted from the Flora of Taiwan is recovered.
