Bulbophyllum tangerinum, a new orchid species of Taiwan

Abstract

This report presents one new orchid of Taiwan, viz., Bulbophyllum tangerinum T.P. Lin. Bulbophyllum tangerinum is uniquely characterized by the presence of a long peduncle that exceeds 12 cm, orange-red flowers, and translucent twisted hairs on the lower margin of the lateral sepal. A full description, photos, and line drawings are provided. Also, a brief review of the Cirrhopetalum alliance of Taiwan is presented.
