    Abstract

    Begonia randaiensis and B. hayatae described from Taiwan are found to be synonyms. Begonia randaiensis is conspecific with the widely distributed B. laciniata, and B. hayatae with B. aptera. Begonia formosana is not considered to be related to B. laciniata.
